Loire Valley
Petite Folle - 2021 - Sophie et Clément Maire Kurdziel
Vignobles Les Justices
A nose of ripe fruit, blueberry, plum, cherry, and sweet spices, with a hint of sandalwood. Rather full bodied and powerful for this variety, this is a complex wine, without lacking smoothness and freshness – a very well balanced cuvée.

A blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from vines grown organically and planted around 1970 on clay-limestone soils in Champigny, on two tiny parcels at the vineyard site “Boutifolle”. Harvesting is done by hand, with yields of around 25 hl/ha. Vinification: the grapes are destemmed, followed by 40 days of maceration by infusion (with little extraction), blending of free-run and press juices, and 9 months of maturation in 225-litre barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled at the estate without fining, filtration, or added sulphites.
