A lovely sparkling wine with notes of apricot, green apple, walnut, plus hints of citrus and lemongrass. On the palate, surprisingly round given the aromatics, with a juicy, mouthwatering finish. Absolutely killer—and even more so at this price!
Adrien Berlioz
Adrien Berlioz keeps proving he’s one of the winemakers you can count on in Savoie, with cuvées that gain in precision and elegance year after year. It all began in 2006, when Adrien created the Cellier des Cray in Chignin after inheriting a few rows of vines from his grandmother, gradually building a fine 6-hectare patchwork that he farms organically and biodynamically. This parcel-by-parcel approach is truly essential to him, as he seeks to highlight the typicity of each terroir and the diversity of its soils. In 2021, Adrien founded Domaine de Vénus, reconstituting a forgotten 4-hectare vineyard of heritage grapes (Verdesse, Joubertin, Bia Blanc…) trained in pergola. And in 2024, he moved his cellar to Les Molettes and took over Les Vignes de la Sauterelle Verte on the Coisin hillside, to better cope with the climatic challenges in Chignin. The wines remain complex, energetic, and sometimes take us off the beaten track of Savoie!
