François Chidaine
François Chidaine is one of the most talented winemakers of his generation, a true Chenin master to whom the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation owes a great deal. Son of winemakers, he founded his domaine in 1989, bringing together scattered parcels over 4 hectares. Early on, Didier Dagueneau convinced him to work organically, then biodynamically: the vineyard became Demeter certified in 1999 — a real pioneer! The estate grew over the years; in 1999 his parents handed over their vineyards, bringing the domaine to 17 hectares. The following year, his wife Manuéla joined him. Today the domaine covers 47 hectares: 23 ha of Chenin in Montlouis, 16 ha in Touraine ((with Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Grolleau, Cabernet Franc, Côt and Pineau d’Aunis) and 8 ha in Vouvray. A few words from François Chidaine: "A passionate winemaker, fully aware of the demands of my craft, I work alongside my team, who give their very best each day to produce the finest grapes possible."
