Nolwenn Runigo & Roland Conq

Nolwenn Runigo and Roland Conq, born respectively in the 1974 and 1972 vintages, are the couple behind Tizh, the young Breton estate and negoce based in Locmiquélic, in Brittany! An old winegrowing terroir now coming back to life at full speed, with Nolwenn and Roland among the very first to plant vines there. Both Breton, Nolwenn originally trained as a special needs educator, while Roland is a traditional guitarist and composer… before natural wine caught up with them! Nolwenn began training in living-soil market gardening in 2019, the same year they planted their first vines: first 1,000 square metres of Grolleau Gris on an experimental basis in Kervignac, then 1.10 ha in Riantec in 2023. Mulching the soils, no ploughing, manual work, minimal sulphur use… Tizh draws inspiration from the right people: Rémi Sédès, Domaine Cinq Peyres, but above all Jacques Février of Raisin à Plume, “for the emotion he puts into his wines.” A sensibility you can feel in the glass, with wines both free and clean. Hats off to the Bretons!
