100% Chardonnay, from almost 60-year-old vines, grown on several terroirs: Clos Reyssié, Clos de M. Noly, Old Plants... The soil is mainly clay-limestone, maintained by ploughing and grassing between the rows. The grapes are handpicked, and the whole harvest is slowly pressed in a pneumatic press, with no added sulphites or yeasts... or anything else for that matter. Matured 12 months on fine lees in barrels that have seen 3 to 5 wines then 2 years in vats. Neither filtered nor fined.

Philippe Valette represents the third generation of vignerons to run this 8.5 ha estate (15 ha if we count the vines of his brother Baptiste) located in Chaintré, a village on the border between the Mâconnais and Beaujolais appellations.
