Chardonnay from biodynamically grown vines planted on a 0.52 hectare area in the heart of the Cru, mid-slope, with prestigious neighbours on either side (Leflaive and Leroy), on clay-limestone soils. Hand-picked, direct pressing, light settling of the must, then racking into barrels with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in 600 and 228 litre barrels. One year of ageing in barrels then 6 months of ageing in stainless steel vats on fine lees. Slight fining and respectful filtration before bottling on the descending moon.

Etienne de Montille personifies the Domaine de Montille, the celebrated estate in Volnay whose origins date back to the 1750s.
