Loire Valley
Saumur Blanc - 2024 - Domaine des Sables Verts
Caroline et Hervé Malinge
Notes of pear, quince, lemon, butter, walnut, fennel... A fragrant and complex nose, devilishly balanced, lovely volume, chalky and salty on the palate, with the oak just enhancing the aromatics. Superb value for money!

100% Chenin from thirty-year-old organically grown vines planted on the Bonneveaux, Rouères, and Elettes plots, covering a total of 0.56 hectares with sandy clay-loam soils. bThe grapes were harvested by hand. Vinification: direct pressing, fermentation and aging in barrels, lightly toasted so that the wood does not overpower the fruit, 12 months on lees. Blending of the barrels, light filtration before bottling at the end of August 2025, carried out at the estate. No fining, just a micro-dose of sulfur.
