Peau à Peau - 2023 - Domaine La Calmette
Maya Sallée & Nicolas Fernandez
Complex nose of black cherry, pastry cream, and a smoky touch... The texture is intense, with fine, vibrant tannins. Aromatics of fig leaf and menthol bring great length and a beautifully layered mid-palate. The finish is delicate and mouthwatering. Decant in its youth for full expression.

100% Malbec from 34-year-old organically farmed vines, planted on the Pech Meja plot at 320m altitude, east-facing, on marl soils. Hand-harvested into 20kg crates, fully destemmed, then gravity-fed into vats. The berries were left untouched for an 8-month infusion-style maceration. Pressed in May 2024 using a vertical press. Aged for 4 months before bottling at the domaine, unfined, unfiltered, with just a micro-dose of sulphur (1g/hL).
