La Montagne du Scarabée - 2023 - La Grange de l'Oncle Charles
Jérôme François & Morgane Stoquert
Complex and very expressive nose carried by notes of white fruits, iodised notes... Palate: mineral, large volume, powerful and showing beautiful thin bitters. A very big and beautiful white wine. Incredibly long, dry and mineral.

A 50/50 blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris from biodynamically farmed vines planted in 1982, on parcels classified as Grand Cru Kaeff… (we’ll let you guess! — though the cuvée is deliberately bottled as Vin de France), with granite and clay soils. Hand-harvested, with low yields. Natural vinification: direct pressing, transferred into barrels for fermentation and 12 months of ageing on full lees, in barrels of several wines. Bottled at the Domaine on September 29th, 2024, without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur at pressing.

JÉRÔME FRANÇOIS
Jérôme François settled in Ostheim in 2014. The young carpenter couldn’t resist the call of the vine and started his estate with a few plots from his grandfather and the barn of his great uncle! Late 2017, Jérôme teamed up with Yann Bury. The man grows his vines biodynamically, and works the soil not with a tractor but with two horses, Sirus and Fastochex. A flock of black Ouessant sheep...
