Veritas - 2024 - Vignoble de l’Ecu
Fred Niger
A highly elegant nose with notes of strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, and delicate blue flowers. The palate is supple and airy yet irresistibly juicy, echoing the floral notes from the nose, especially violet. Claire and Fred say it scores high on the drinkability scale!

100% Pinot Noir from organically and biodynamically farmed vines (certified by Demeter and Biodyvin) planted on a one-hectare parcel, south/southwest-facing, on an orthogneiss subsoil. The grapes were harvested by hand with yields around 35-40 hl/ha. The grapes are moved by gravity (and all work is done by gravity). Natural vinification, total destemming, 8 days of maceration of the berries, followed by pneumatic pressing, 10 months of aging in concrete tanks. Bottled without fining, without filtration.
Fred Niger
Fred bought Vignoble de l'Écu in 2010, with its perfect soils cultivated organically since 1972, then certified biodynamic by DEMETER in 1998. He’s been collaborating with Guy Bossard since 2014, the master of Muscadet. The pairing is simply miraculous. Fred, a novice at winegrowing but an unparalleled taster, knows exactly what he wants and what he intends to do for wine in the Muscadet....
