Beaujolais
A beautifully fresh cuvée, “both a bouquet of flowers and a basket of fresh fruit”, as Comtesse de Vazeilles puts it. Palate: soft, velvety attack, the Serine adds volume and body, long, pure finish of jammy black fruits.
A blended cuvée of of Gamay and Petite Sérine from biodynamically-grown vines planted on plots classified in the Beaujolais Villages appellation, right next to Fleurie, on silty sand soils over a pink granitic bedrock. Harvesting was done by hand, the grapes are moved by gravity, natural vinification, but not traditional from the Beaujolais region, since it begins with a total destemming. 20 days of maceration, gentle pressing, 16 months of aging in concrete vats. Bottled without fining or filtration, low sulfur.
