Elisabetta Foradori is located in the region of Trentin, in northeast Italy, and brings us her Foradori Sgarzon, the product of respectful, non-interventionist viticulture. This grape variety, Teroldego, is cultivated on a sandy clay soil. The vines are 50 years old. The grapes are de-stemmed. The maceration, fermentation and maturation take place in 450-litre clay amphorae over 8 months! Next, the wine is racked and matured 3 months in acacia wood barrels. New wood is forbidden. A very light dose of sulphites at bottling.
Elisabetta Foradori cultivates 26 hectares nestled amidst the Dolomite Mountains, in Mezzolombardo, on the Campo Rotaliano plain. Her family estate was founded there in 1901 on an exceptional terroir. The viticulture advocated by Elisabetta is profoundly rooted in her own principals about life, biodiversity, and energy, with biodynamics strongly informing her views on the latter.
