First vintage for this unanimously acclaimed cuvée: Syrah in semi-carbonic maceration... what a delight!!! Fruity on the nose, juicy, luscious and fresh on the palate, a wine to be uncorked without delay.
100% Syrah from vines averaging 25 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils and grown using the cosmoculture method perfected by Alain and Philippe Viret. Harvested by hand, the grapes are carefully sorted. Vatting by gravity, the whole bunches macerated in concrete vats for 7 days, then pressing, end of fermentation and several months of aging in stainless steel vats. Bottled at the estate without fining or filtration, and without any addition of sulfites.
Philippe Viret is the winemaker behind the legendary Domaine Viret, located in the Rhône Valley in the Southern Drôme area.
