Les Cistes - 2015 - Peyre Rose
Marlène Soria
Highly complex nose with tertiary notes, particularly undergrowth, chocolate, long pepper, leather, truffle, with a smoky and bacon-like touch. The palate is concentrated, voluptuous, spicy, warm and powerful, simply sublime. Built for ageing and for the table, decanting recommended.

Mostly Syrah with a touch of Grenache Noir, less than 10%, from vines grown organically, planted at the creation of the estate on former garrigue ("les cistes" being small Mediterranean flowering shrubs), at 180 meters altitude, in a very dry environment. Hand-harvested at very high ripeness, total destemming, classic and long maceration, extremely long ageing of more than 8 years in concrete vats, enamelled steel tanks and stainless steel vats. Bottled and then further refined for at least one year in the cellars of Peyre Rose.
