Côtes de Cassagne - 2023 - Château Côtes de Cassagne

Myriam et Cyril Chancelier

Despite its time in barrel, the oak remains subtle in this Bordeaux red, with notes of mixed spices, blackberry jam, vanilla, and toasted bread. The palate is velvety and polished, smooth and round, leading to a warm, gently vanilla-tinged finish.

70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, mostly from old vines — some over 70 years old — planted on clay-limestone soils in Ruch. The estate is not certified organic but works just like it. South-facing plots, some right in front of the house, the farthest only 600 meters away. Blended before bottling, unfined and unfiltered, only 30 mg/liter of total SO2.
