Montjoie - 2019 - Antony Tortul

La Sorga

A nose of bergamot, beeswax, and pickled lemon, with mineral notes. A palate of great length and tension, with lovely volume and chewiness, and a finish marked by a long maceration, all of which promise this wine will only improve with the years.

A cuvée of 100% Bourboulenc, from 60-year-old vines planted in the Piscénois region, on a basalt terroir. Harvesting is done by hand, with low yields: 16 hl/ha. Natural vinification: after meticulous sorting, the best bunches are mixed into juice from direct pressing without settling and left to macerate for 8 months. The remaining grapes are pressed, and the wine is then matured in ceramic eggs for 14 months. Bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphites.
