Gilles Berlioz
A tasting favorite, with a nose so original you wouldn’t expect it from a red! Notes of smoke, anise, ras-el-hanout, chicory, cured flavors… Wow!!! The palate is super fresh, almost zero tannin, fluid and lively—it’s delicious. A stunning match with fish dish.

Half Gamay and half Mondeuse, from vines aged 20 to 50 years, managed organically, planted in the commune of Chignin on the Les Plantets and Pré Callet parcels, with clay-limestone soils and east and southwest exposures. Hand-harvested. Natural vinification: 7 days of semi-carbonic maceration with whole clusters, the two grape varieties vinified separately and blended once fermentation is complete, 6 months of aging in fiber vats. Bottled at the estate with just a micro-dose of sulfur (1 g/hl).

Gilles Berlioz
Gilles Berlioz is a model and an inspiration for many wine artisans in Savoie and far beyond. The son of a worker and trained as a landscaper, he turned to the vine in 1990 with his partner Christine, starting with less than a single hectare in Chignin. And what a journey since then! The estate now covers 6.5 hectares, farmed organically and with certified biodynamics, worked entirely by hand...
