Marcelle - 2022 - Domaine Adrien Berlioz
Adrien Berlioz
A complex, evolving orange wine, with notes of mirabelle, rosebud, orange peel, flint, almond paste, and sap… The palate is full-bodied, very energetic, driven by a beautiful aroma-structure duo. Great length, finishing on a mineral sensation.

100% Pinot Gris, also locally called Malvoisie in Savoie, from vines managed organically and biodynamically, planted in 2013 on the Les Cray parcel in Chignin, on marly soils with a south-facing exposure. Hand-harvested in crates, the grapes arrive intact at the winery. Vinification: half undergoes direct and slow pressing, the other half macerates as whole clusters, then the juices are blended before aging in vats. Bottled without fining or filtration, with careful use of sulfites, total SO2: 39 mg/litre.

It all began in 2006, when Adrien created the Cellier des Cray in Chignin after inheriting a few rows of vines from his grandmother, gradually building a fine 6-hectare patchwork that he farms organically and biodynamically.
