Jura
One of, if not the best Macvin ever produced in the Jura. A dessert unto itself, with notes of candied fruit.
A macvin, made with 1/3 old Marc du Jura spirits and 2/3 Chardonnay and Savagnin grape juice taken at the beginning of their fermentation. Once blended together it will age for another 8 years before being bottled and sold, with 17.5% ABV.
Jean-François Ganevat represents the 14th generation of vignerons of his family in Rotalier, in the south of Jura. After years working as the cellar master of Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet, he took over his family’s estate in 1998.
