From vines at the top of the Coteaux de Tupin, grown on a terraced terroir of granite and gneiss, typical of the southern part of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. Slopes are as steep as 50% in this area. Jean Michel is a purist, with no chemicals used in the vineyard or the winery, which means zero sulphur, indigenous yeasts, etc... A cuvée made from 100% Serine – the native, non-cloned variety of Syrah. Yield 15 hl/hectare. Vinification: carbonic maceration and 24 months maturation in barrels, with no sulphur and no filtration.
