A free-flowing Cornas, driven by cinnamon, pepper, mint, blackberry and blueberry... Full-bodied and perfectly digestible, the aromas are in perfect harmony with the nose, with a long, floral finish.
100% Syrah from biodynamically-grown vines planted at an altitude of 300 meters in the commune of Cornas, on the "Le Bois" parcel, which shows highly degraded granitic soils and a clay-granitic band. Hand-harvested and naturally vinified: no inputs, no sulfites, 14 months of ageing in 225-liter glass carboys. Bottled at the estate after natural settling, with no fining or filtration, and no added SO2. Only 560 bottles produced.
Matthieu Barret has been making wine at Domaine du Coulet since 1998.
