Highly complex, the nose opens on cherry, strawberry, raspberry and blood orange, before evolving towards earthy and spicy notes. Silky, deep and supple on the palate, a unique juice with lots of character. Open it (no decant!) a few hours in advance, it needs to breathe!

Vinified by Claude Courtois until 2019, the iconic Racines Rouge is now in the hands of his son Etienne. It's still a blend of Gamay, Côt, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and Gascon Noir, from organically grown vines planted on flinty clay soils; treatments with nettle, horsetail and tiny (tiny!!) doses of Bordeaux mixture. All grape varieties are fermented together, gently pressed and aged for 30 months in old barrels. Unfined and unfiltered, without added sulfites.
