We are clearly a notch above compared to other Henri cuvées from the same vintage. Crunchy cherry, spices... Round and dense on the palate, superb substance. Decanting recommended, very interesting aging potential.

100% Gamay in whole bunches, blend of four 228-litre casks of free-run juice, with one 228-litre cask and one 500-litre cask which are the blend of the three finest samples of Henri's vintage. The 228-liter barrels have seen several wines, and the 500-liter barrel is a barrel with new oak from the Tronçais forest, with a delicate and special toasting so as not to mark the wine. 12 months of ageing, unfined, unfiltered, bottled by gravity, zero added sulphites.

Henri Chauvet, child of the 1987 vintage, is a new winemaker based in Boudes in Auvergne. After quitting his job in insurance banks, he got his viticulture and oenology diploma, and trained alongside Jérôme Bressy in Rasteau, then with the legendary Thierry Allemand in Cornas.
