Primus Blanc - 2024 - Quinta da Pellada
Álvaro de Castro
This is THE white wine from Quinta da Pellada, a complex wine reminiscent of Burgundy with its balanced, rich notes of butter, citrus, and beautiful minerality. Full-bodied and very long on the palate, it reveals aromas of honeyed exotic fruits and great power. Superb!!!

A blend of 19 varieties (including Encruzado, Cerceal, Bical, and Assario), the vines are 75 years old and are planted on a single plot, facing South, with granitic soils in the village of Pinhanços, at an altitude of aroubd 500 meters. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, and crushed upon arrival at the winery; the berries are macerated for 6 hours before pressing, followed by a blend of free-run juice and press juice. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for one year—80% in new French oak barrels and 20% in concrete eggs.
