El Carner means "The Ram" in the Catalan language... A wine that barrels ahead and overturns the rules! Successively red, rosé, or orange, with notes of cherry stone, nectarine, and thyme... The tannins are quite present, the acidity pleasant, and the finish is lovely and long.

A blend of 60% Grenache Gris and 40% Macabeu, from organically farmed vineyards using biodynamic practices, planted on a 0.5-hectare vineyard plot with clay-limestone and red slate soils, bordered by garrigue. Hand-harvested. In the cellar: natural vinification, co-maceration of the two grape varieties, and fermentation for three weeks in a 1,000-liter Italian amphora, followed by 8 months of aging in this same amphora. Unfiltered, unfined, and with zero added sulfur!

In France, he was one of the finest students of Gérard Gauby , thanks to whom he met Nathalie, Gérard’s sister, with whom he settled in 2001 in Calce, in a still unspoilt environment, where they founded the Domaine Matassa.
