Champagne Mongamin - 2018 - Vincent Assailly
Champagne Assailly
A great wine before being a great Champagne, with a nose of pear, peach, butter-roasted pineapple and a hint of violet. The palate is vinous and dense, mineral and structured, with beautiful tension and notes of dried fruits. Powerful, long finish, both chalky and saline.

A cuvée created in 1938 by Maurice Assailly—grandfather and founder of the Maison—for his son. 100% Chardonnay from 80-year-old vines, planted in Grand Cru terroir in Avize on the lieu-dit Les Chantraintes, with a touch from L’Abattoir. Manual harvest, direct pressing, vinification in barrels with stirring of the lees. This cuvée comes exclusively from the 2018 vintage. Bottled for secondary fermentation, then aged on lees in bottle for more than three years. Disgorged on the 30th of November 2022. Dosage at 3 grams per litre.
