Coteaux Champenois Pharamond - 2019 - Goulard
Damien Goulard
A powerful, complex and noble nose, with notes of raspberry, crushed strawberry, cherry, and a subtle touch of vanilla lending a deliciously indulgent edge. On the palate: supple tannins support the wine’s fine structure beautifully, delivering a profile that is both powerful and velvety.

100% Pinot Meunier from vines over 35 years old, farmed organically (though not yet certified at the time), planted in sandy soils in Prouilly. Hand-harvested, fully destemmed, with fermentation taking place in stainless steel tanks using gentle punch-downs and pump-overs. Pressed, then aged half in old tonneaux (no new oak) and half in very low-porosity ceramic amphorae. Bottled at the estate. Pharamond was the first king of the Franks, and legend has it his tomb lies in Prouilly.

Damien Goulard
Damien Goulard took over the family estate Champagne J.M. Goulard in 2015. The Maison was founded in 1978 by Jean-Marie Goulard and his wife Martine, and is located in Prouilly, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The 7-hectare estate is planted mainly with Pinot Meunier. The exceptional quality of this terroir has been known for centuries — mentioned as early as 532 in the will of Saint-Rémy —...
