Baga - 2020 - Quinta da Pellada
Álvaro de Castro

Single plot selection made of 100% Baga from old vines up to 40 years old, farmed organically and planted at an altitude of around 500 meters on granite soils in the village of Pinhanços, with a Southeastern exposure. Vinification: full destemming, crushing, 6 days of maceration, pressing, fermentation in large open top granite vats (called lagar in Portugal), then transferred into French oak barrel, without new oak, for 18 months of aging. Bottled at the estate and further maturation in bottles in the estate's cellars.
