Rhône Valley

Champsaurel - 2020 - Michèle Aubéry

Domaine Gramenon

Complex, balanced and powerful, with notes of black fruits and a hint of incense. Palate: hotheadedness of youth, nice crunchy tannins, finish on a hint of undergrowth. Forget this bottle for a few months in your cellar, you will be rewarded!

Michèle’s son, Maxime-François Laurent, has set up a small structure to buy grapes from local vignerons who farm their vines organically. Blend: 80% Grenache from 50-year-old vines, 20% Syrah from 20-year-old vines, planted on sandy soils in the commune of Rousset-les-Vignes. The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification: co-maceration of the two grape varieties for 2 weeks in concrete vats, 6 months of aging in barrels that have seen several wines. Neither fined nor filtered, and just a pinch of sulphur after malolactic fermentation.
