Rhône Valley
A nose with hints of liquorice, black fruits, and spices... A palate of great depth, tightly woven, between power and elegance. A wine that deserves some patience – forget about in your cellar for a few years, you will be amply rewarded. Decanting is recommended.
100% Grenache from 60-year-old biodynamic vines planted on soils ranging from clay to marl, sand and pebbles. The grapes are harvested by hand, with sorting in the vineyard, and yields of 30 hl/ha. Vinification: the grapes are partially destemmed, followed by 15 days of maceration in cement vats, gentle pressing, and 12 months of maturation in barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled on the estate without fining or filtration, and zero added sulphur.
Michèle Aubery Laurent, the head and heart of Domaine Gramenon, is one of the most distinguished grande dames in Rhône wine... Her adventure began in 1978 when she bought 12 hectares of old vines in Montbrison with her husband Philippe Laurent. Vinification began in the first year and her first bottles were marketed in 1979.
