A brut sparkling wine, with notes of white fruit and citrus... Palate: lively bubbles, beautiful freshness – an invigorating, thirst-quenching wine. A bit concerned by the juvenile name on the bottle? (Prout Impérial = Imperial Fart) Not to worry, you’ll be won over by the wine inside!
Blend: Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, from organically-farmed vineyards, not certified. Made from still white wines bottled before the sugars had finished fermenting. Vinification: direct pressing, 24-hour settling, no dosage (it is a brut nature) a microdose of sulphur, followed by six months in vats, and traditional secondary fermentation in the bottle, with one year in stacks and disgorging by ice.
Matthieu Barret has been making wine at Domaine du Coulet since 1998.
