Les Justices - 2020 - Sophie et Clément Maire Kurdziel
Vignobles Les Justices
A concentrated nose of black fruits – blackcurrant, blackberry jam – with long pepper and floral notes. The palate is built for wonderful food pairings, with very elegant, almost silky tannic structure, plus fine acidity, beautiful freshness, and a long, fruity finish.

100% Cabernet Franc from old vines in conversion to organic farming, planted in Ligré in 1947 on clay-silica soils at the vineyard site “Les Justices”, in the Chinon appellation. Harvesting is done by hand, with yields of 20 hl/ha. Natural vinification: the grapes are destemmed, followed by 45 days of maceration with little extraction, blending of free-run and press juices, and 12 months of maturation – 50% in 500-litre barrels and 50% in vats. Bottled at the estate in March 2022 without fining or filtration, and just a microdose of sulphur.
