A complex nose with notes of almonds, white flowers, beeswax, and pears... A rich, dense, intense and mineralesque palate, with a toasted finish. A great deal of pleasure for the price, this is a wine for fans of Chenin... and everyone else!
100% Chenin from 40 to 80-year-old vines, farmed organically and planted on a single plot known as the Clos Degas, on the Cerisaie hill. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by natural vinification: long and gentle pressing, settling by gravity, fermentation and maturation in vats for 8 months. Bottled at the estate on the 7th of April 2023, without fining and with just a microdose of sulphur.
Laurent Troubat (from Savoie) and Pauline Mourrain (from Brittany) met at engineering school in Strasbourg. Graduating in 2011, they quickly realised they’d chosen the wrong career.
