Rouchefert - 2021 - Jean Christophe Garnier
Jean-Christophe Garnier
A fruity nose with notes of citrus, orange peel, and roasted pineapple, lovely mineral structure to boot... The palate is round, full, and powerful, with great volume, and an endless white fruit finish with a touch of salt. A serious wine for gourmet pairings – decanting is recommended.

100% Chenin from vines farmed organically on a 1.3-hectare plot of clay soils in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay, facing south/west. Planted in 2015 by massal selection, the parcel is a beautiful representation of the expressive diversity of Loire-grown Chenin. Vinification: hand-harvested grapes are direct pressed, followed by fermentation then maturation for nine months, half in vats and half in tuns that have seen several wines. Bottled on the 14th of April 2022, without fining or filtration, and without added sulphites.
