Vincent Alexis

Vincent Alexis has since 2014 been the face of Château Barouillet, an estate 50 km east of Saint-Émilion in Pomport in Dordogne, which has been in the same family for more than eight generations. Today, three family members from three generations continue to run the business! Indeed, Vincent benefits from the experience of both his father Gérard, with nearly 40 vintages under his belt at the estate, and his grandfather Yves or "Milou", who has brought us more than 60 vintages of Barouillet! As the new torchbearer, Vincent's seeks to continue his forefathers’ work while allowing the terroirs to express themselves as freely as possible... To achieve this, the three men began converting the estate to organic viticulture in 2010. Since then, they’ve refined their techniques to include herbal vine treatments and decoctions, natural grassing between the rows, and working of the soil. Their philosophy is expressed beautifully in the bottle, with wines that come close to perfection!
