First vintage for this 100% Gamay from 30-year-old vines labeled organic since 2020, planted on deep granitic soils, on the Regnié appellation but which Antoine automatically classifies as a Beaujolais-Villages. Manual harvest, 6 days of carbonic maceration in whole bunches, in concrete vats, and 8 months of aging in these same vats before bottling at the Estate on the 13th of April 2023. Not fined, not filtered, only 0.5 gram / hl of sulfur added at bottling.
Antoine Sunier, child of the 79 vintage, was in no way predestined to become a winegrower... Son of a hairdresser, he had a first professional life in telecoms for 13 years, but was then titillated by the wish to have his feet in the vineyards, thanks to his brother Julien Sunier, who set up his own estate after returning to Beaujolais in 2003.
