Burgundy
All the freshness of Pinot Noir planted in altitude, with notes of cherry, undergrowth and a hint of cedar. A few words from the estate: "a wine very faithful to the common idea we've always had of a good Burgundy, immensely pleasant and refined."
100% Pinot Noir from vines grown biodynamically, planted on two parcels in Nantoux: En Bignon, with clay soils on hard limestone, and Le Clou, with white limestone soils and large pebbles on yellow marl; a complexity of the terroir and parcels that reveals all the potential of the Hautes Côtes, with the added impact of altitude. Harvested by hand. Vinification: 50% of the grapes are destemmed, gentle extraction in casks. Aged for 12 months in barrels, of which 15% are new. Bottled at the estate.
Boris Champy, a child of the 1974 vintage, is at the helm of his eponymous estate in Nantoux, in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune region.
