Echézeaux Grand Cru - 2013 - Claire Naudin

Domaine Naudin-Ferrand

Every bit a Grand Cru: a nose with notes of jammy black fruit, cacao, a touch of wood... A perfectly harmonious palate, beautiful body, rich with big tannins, a wine with great ageing potential, that is now ready to be tasted for a legendary moment.

A cuvée of Pinot noir from the parcel "les Rouges du Bas", 36 years old and planted on clay-limestone soil, in the heart of Grand Cru Echézeaux. The grapes are hand-harvested, and only in the morning. In the winery: whole bunches fermented in vats 15 days, with indigenous yeasts, and a little cap punching. Gentle pressing, blending of free-run wine and press wine, and matured for 18 months in Burgundy barrels with 60% new oak, on the lees. Unfined, unfiltered, bottled in the Spring 2015 with a micro-dose of sulphur.
