Pommard 1er Cru "Les Croix Noires" - 2017 - Gilles de Courcel

Domaine de Courcel

A Pinot Noir made from old vines planted on clay soils on the Les Croix Noires vineyard parcel (0.58 ha), located south of Pommard. The soil is ploughed to encourage deep rooting. The grapes are harvested by hand, with tightly controlled yields and strict sorting of the bunches. Vinification: whole bunches, cold maceration, fermentation at low temperatures, frequent punching of the cap and pumping over, a post-fermentation carbonic maceration, and 23 months maturation, a third of which are new. Neither fined nor filtered.
