Merlot Syrah - 2011 - Domaine des Tours

Emmanuel Reynaud

Sold out

Notes of flowers, forest floor, truffle, black olive and blueberry jam… brazenly complex, and perhaps even more intense than the other cuvées from Les Tours. The palate is all about finesse, with beautifully mellow, seamless and fluid tannins, and a wildly long finish.

A blended cuvée of half Merlot and half Syrah, from old vines planted in the Sarrians area, on clay-limestone and sandy soils with scattered rolled pebbles. While not certified organic, the vines are farmed without any chemical inputs, using only substances you could "drink or breathe." The grapes were harvested by hand with low yields. Vinification: spontaneous fermentation, gentle extraction, long ageing over several years in old casks.
