Je suis ton père - 2022 - Matthieu Barret
Domaine du Coulet
A nose of raspberries, with notes of small red berries. Palate: a wine structured by its fine acidity and a sharp tanin. A fascinating, delicious wine, a truly beautiful discovery, and far more than just a novelty.

A cuvée of 100% Dureza, the genetic father of the Syrah, hence the Darth Vader-esque name (Je suis ton père = I am your father)! Made from young, 6-year-old vines planted on the Arlettes plateau, a terroir of clayey limestone and silty soils with granitic influences in the commune of Cornas. Vinification: total destemming of the grapes, two weeks of maceration, pressing in a pneumatic press, 7 months of maturation in concrete vats. Unfined, microfiltration, and just a microdose of sulphur at bottling.
Matthieu Barret
Matthieu Barret has been making wine at Domaine du Coulet since 1998. It was Stéphane Tissot , one of Jura's most famous vignerons, who first gave Barret the nickname "Petit Ours Brun" (little brown bear), and it quickly caught on among his vigneron peers, and even found its way onto his wine labels, such as his red and white cuvées Petit Ours Brun and Petit Ours Blanc.
