A blend of 75% Grenache from Roussas in the Drôme, and 25% Gamay from Eclassan in the hills of Ardèche. Both vineyards are in conversion to organics and farmed by Emmanuel Tracol and Florent Bacconier. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified by Matthieu in Cornas. After direct pressing and 24 hours of settling by gravity, the wine is fermented for 6 months in vats, méthode traditionnelle (the same vinification as for Champagne), aged on laths. Disgorged by freezing, zero dosage, low dose of sulphur.

Matthieu Barret
Matthieu Barret has been making wine at Domaine du Coulet since 1998. It was Stéphane Tissot , one of Jura's most famous vignerons, who first gave Barret the nickname "Petit Ours Brun" (little brown bear), and it quickly caught on among his vigneron peers, and even found its way onto his wine labels, such as his red and white cuvées Petit Ours Brun and Petit Ours Blanc.
