A very fruity nose, with notes of blackberry compote and a hint of sweet spices. The palate is dense and complex, with beautiful tannic structure (perfect for food pairings), very enticing length, and a fruity, mineralesque finish.
Pinot Noir from old vines farmed organically and planted in the vineyard sites of Les Charbonnières and Les Topons, respectively in 1924 and 1953, for a total area of 44 ares. The vines grow very high in this parcel, with the trellising raised to reach 1.8 meters. The vineyard is horse ploughed and has natural grassing between the vines. Vinification: 15 days of cold maceration, gentle pressing, and transfer by gravity into barrels (25% new oak) for 12 months of maturation, before being blended in vats and bottled.
