Saint Aubin 1er Cru "Shadows" - 2021 - Jonathan Purcell
Vin Noé
One of our great favourites – a wine with huge ageing potential, this is some masterfully balanced juice, with richness and depth, plus acidity and a backbone that is both fruity and mineral. Cellar this a few years, you will be amply rewarded for your patience!

100% Chardonnay from vines that have been farmed organically since their planting in 2000, on a 40-acre parcel oriented north/northeast and surrounded by trees, hence the name of the cuvée. Harvesting is done by hand, with micro yields of just 15 hl/hectare. Natural vinification: after direct pressing, the wine is vinified and matured 15 months in 500-litre barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled in November 2022 without fining, filtration or added sulphites.
