Bel Air - 2020 - Valentin Desloges
Les Quatre Piliers
Notes of candied citrus fruits, pineapple, honey. A white wine which is produced on a terroir usually for reds, which gives it a lot of power, volume, length, endless finish, finely saline, and a retro-olfaction to die for. Decanting is recommended.

100% Sauvignon from 55 to 65 year-old vines, in massal selection, in conversion to organic farming, planted on a two hectares plot facing South-East, which has deep clay-limestone soils with iron oxide. Manual harvest, fermentation and vinification in 228-litre barrels, we are talking about ex-Coche-Dury barrels and barrels made by the François Frères cooperage with oak from the estate, dried by Valentin. Long aging, bottled in May 2022 during the good moon according to the biodynamic calendar, without filtration, sensible use of sulfites.
Valentin Desloges, child of the 1993 vintage, took the right decision by continuing the family line of winegrowers and founding Les Quatre Piliers estate. After high-school in Amboise and a BTS viti-oeno in Bordeaux, Valentin participated in the vinification of Château Mangot, then left in 2015 for 6 months in New Zealand, where he deepened his comprehension of Sauvignon.
