Produced from vines at top of the Côte Brune on a terraced terroir composed of mica schist. Jean Michel is a purist, with no chemicals used in the vineyard or the winery, which means zero added sulphur, indigenous yeasts, etc... A blended cuvée of 80% Syrah and 20% Viognier from vines planted in 1994. Manual harvest and controlled yields. Vinification: carbonic maceration and 12 months of maturation in old barrels. Unfined, unfiltered, bottled at the Estate without added sulfur.
