Rhône Valley
La Sagesse - 2021 - Michèle Aubéry
Domaine Gramenon
A complex nose with lovely notes of black fruit compote, violet, sweet spices, and a hint of liquorice. Palate: smooth, very well balanced, with purity of fruit and lovely tannic structure. Decanting recommended.

100% Grenache, from 50- to 70-year-old vines, farmed biodynamically and planted on three different parcels: two on the limestone plateau of Gramenon, at 300 metres altitude, and the third on the southern slope, with sandy soil. The grapes are harvested by hand, yields of 20 hl/ha. Vinification: the grapes are partially destemmed, macerated 15 days in cement vats, followed by gentle pressing, 12 months maturation in barrels that have seen several wines. Bottled on the estate without fining or filtration, and zero added sulphur.
