A cuvée vinified by Brian Sieve, Rodolphe Peters and Etienne de Montille. 100% Pinot Noir from organic vines planted on sandy and clay-limestone soils in California's Santa Rita Hills appellation. Harvested by hand and a very respectful vinification: indigenous yeasts, half of the grapes are destemmed, gentle crushing and punching down for three weeks for delicate extraction, aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 15% new oak.

Etienne de Montille personifies the Domaine de Montille, the celebrated estate in Volnay whose origins date back to the 1750s. The renown of the family name is of course due to Hubert de Montille, Etienne’s father, who rebuilt the estate from scratch starting in 1947, the vintage in which he first understood that he would only produce wines he loved “and not those of others”.
