Les Barres - 2018 - Alexandre Chartogne
Champagne Chartogne-Taillet

100% Pinot Meunier from ungrafted vines, planted between 1970 and 2008 on the Les Barres plot, of 1ha37, facing South-West. On limestone sands, over chalk subsoil, worked by hand, with natural grassing between the vines. Vinification and aging in 228-liter barrels, without topping-up until March, the wine protects itself from the oxygen under its veil, thus revealing the salty charm of the chalky soils. Bottled in July 2019, maturing on laths, disgorged in July 2023 with a dosage of 3.5 grams per liter, no filtration.
