Jura
An intense Chardonnay, with lingering vegetal notes and a hint of lime. The palate is powerful, fruity and concentrated, yet with beautiful balance and lovely bitter notes that linger over a long finish.
100% Chardonnay from vineyards cultivated biodynamically (the whole estate is certified by Biodyvin) planted on a .95-hectare plot of Triassic-period clay over a bedrock of blue marl, facing south. Stéphane produces no less than eight different Chardonnays, of which Les Bruyères is itself a very fine example. Made from grapes harvested by hand, followed by direct pressing, and two years of maturation in Burgundy oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur.
Stéphane Tissot took over the beautiful family estate from André and Mireille Tissot in 1990, and in over thirty years has accomplished a colossal task to reach the summit of the Jura and become a model far beyond the borders of France.
